Last weekend was another busy one for me with cake delivery and set-ups on Saturday and my largest annual wedding fair at Venue Cymru on Sunday. I’m often a little nervous ahead of these fairs, wondering whether my stall will stand out, whether people will like my new designs and crucially, will I have baked enough samples?!! But once I’m there I always enjoy myself; it’s nice to step away from the oven and chat to all the enthusiastic brides to be. As well as dummy cakes designed especially for the occasion I always take my design portfolios with me to fairs and it’s so rewarding to get positive reactions from people flicking through them. I secretly do a little happy dance inside!!
I have to say I was pleased with my stand last week. I was fortunate to be next to ‘Scent with Love’ who dressed my table, and I had a fabulous personalised balloon made by ‘Balwns’ (which is still going strong and is currently bobbing about my living room). I also unveiled a new design which features a concrete texture. It’s a little more modern and edgy than some of my designs and I really love it because it’s different. It got a great reaction so I expect you’ll see some similar designs popping up on my Instagram feed over the next few months, accompanied by matching mini cakes to complete the look.
I was fortunate to have several couples book with me on the day. I’m fully booked for summer 2019, however I still have a few dates available for autumn and winter 2019 and throughout 2020 & 2021. Thank you to all the lovely couples who came to see me at Venue Cymru and I hope a few more of you decide to choose me for your special day!
